W. Russ Hose II – Outfitter, Designated Agent, & Guide

Russ moved to the Big Lost River Valley in 2000 and quickly decided that this was home. When you come and visit the Big Lost River Valley, you will quickly realize why this is such a special place! Born and raised in Ohio, I had the fortune of learning to hunt and fish with my father and grandfather from a very early age and they instilled in me a passion for the outdoors. Russ has two sons.

Outfitting & Guide Experience:

  • Licensed outfitter, designated agent, and guide. When Doug Sayer gave me the opportunity to purchase Premier Adventure Company it was truly a dream come true given my passion for hunting and helping others. All of my life I have been a hunter, a fisherman, an outdoorsman, and a wildlife conservationist.
  • Over 30 years of Hunting and Fishing Experience with over 15 years experience in the Rocky Mountains including 6 years hunting, fishing, backpacking, hiking, trail riding, and ATV Riding in the Big Lost River Valley.
  • Have harvested and helped others harvested over 50 Big Game Animals - 7 different species.
  • Over 20 years of experience in emergency management, Safety, First Aid, and Fire Fighting
  • Member and active volunteer of just about every wildlife conservation organization in Idaho.

Will P. Marcroft – Lead/Supervising Professional Guide

Will’s family homesteaded in the Big Lost River Valley over 4 generations ago and he has spent his whole life here hunting, fishing, and trapping. Will’s passion for the outdoors is unparalleled and he is one of the most respected hunters and guides in the state of Idaho. Will is married to Cheryl and they have a daughter and 4 sons.

Outfitting & Guide Experience:

  • Idaho Licensed Guide since 1986 with this outfitting business, both present and prior ownership.
  • Over 30 years hunting, fishing, trapping, etc. in the Big Lost River Valley and surrounding areas.
  • Extensive knowledge of operating area, hunting operations, and all other aspects of the outfitting and guide business. Highly Experienced Hound Hunter having harvested numerous “too many to count” black bears and mountain lions for clients, family, and friends.
  • Has harvested or helped others harvested several hundred big game animals - 9 different species.
  • Has hiked and backpacked extensively throughout the outfitting and guide operating area.
  • Lifelong resident and he represents the 3rd generation for his family in the Big Lost River Valley
  • US Forest Service Employee – Assistant Fire Management Officer, Salmon/Challis National Forest
  • Has extensive First Aid and Emergency Management Training and Experience from his fire work with the USFS including extensive training in leadership, incident command, etc.

Jake Johnson – Professional Guide

Jake and his family own one of the premier ranches in the Big Lost River Valley and he is the 4th generation of his family to operate and manage the family ranch. Jake is also an accomplished home builder and the former Idaho State High School All Around Cowboy. In the summer, on a Saturday night, you will most likely find Jake at a rodeo serving as a Pick Up Man for his In-laws rodeo company. Jake is married to Heather and they have 2 beautiful daughters.

Hunting & Guide Experience:

  • Idaho Licensed Guide for 5 years and has lived in the Big Lost River Valley his whole life.
  • Has harvested or helped others harvest over hundred big game animals - 7 different species.
  • Has hiked, trail rode, and backpacked extensively throughout the outfitting and guide operating area.
  • Owner and Operator of the Family Ranch and Cattle Business
  • Extensive Experience with livestock, horses, and packing.

Brad Lambson – Professional Guide

Brad’s family has been a part of the Big Lost River valley for over 5 generations. Brad is a home builder and is married to his wife Heather.

Hunting & Guide Experience:

  • Idaho Licensed Guide off and on for over 18 years and has hunted, fished, and trail rode extensively in the Big Lost River Valley.
  • Over 25 years hunting, fishing, trapping, etc. in the Big Lost River Valley and surrounding areas.
  • Has harvested or helped others harvested over a hundred big game animals; 8 different species.
  • Has hiked, trail rode, and backpacked extensively throughout the outfitting and guide operating area.
  • Lifelong resident of the Big Lost River Valley
  • Owner and Operator of a General Contracting Business
  • Extensive Experience with livestock, horses, and packing.

Thomas “Chip” Palmer – Archery Elk Hunting Guide

Chip is the 2nd generation of his family to live in the Big Lost River Valley. Chip has guided and hunted in the Big Lost River Valley for over 35 years. Chip’s archery hunting success is unparalleled in the Big Lost River Valley, having harvested a bull elk 26 of the past 26 years with his bow. Chip is a Foreman for the Big Lost River Valley Highway District. He is married to his wife Lori and they have 2 daughters each.

Hunting & Guide Experience:

  • Idaho Licensed Guide off and on for the past 26 years and has hunted, fished, and trail rode extensively in the Big Lost River Valley.
  • Very knowledgeable of the area, legendary accomplished archery hunter, will be primary archery hunting guide with nearly 40 years hunting and fishing experience in the Big Lost River Valley.
  • Has harvested or helped others harvested hundreds of big game animals - 6 different species.
  • Foreman for Lost River Highway District – Operating Engineer & Equipment Operator
  • Extensive Experience with livestock, horses, and packing.

Don Baxter – Hound Hunting Guide

Don grew up in the Big Lost River Valley though his career has taken him to Boise for his primary residence. Don is an accomplished hound hunter and joins our team every year for the Spring Black Bear Season. Don is married to his wife Cindy and they have a daughter and a son.

Hunting & Guide Experience:

  • Has hunted and extensively in the Big Lost River Valley and the primary outfitting operating areas.
  • Experienced Hound Hunter with over 30 years of hunting and fishing in the Big Lost River Valley.

 

 

 


Preston Marcroft – Professional Guide

Preston is Will’s older brother and has spent his life here hunting, fishing, and trapping in the Big Lost River Valley. Preston lives and works on the 6X Ranch and has harvested a 347 Net Score Pope & Young Elk with his bow. Preston is also an accomplished houndsmen.

Hunting & Guide Experience:

  • Has hunted and extensively in the Big Lost River Valley and the primary outfitting operating areas.
  • Idaho Licensed Guide off and on since the mid 1980’s.
  • Over 30 years hunting, fishing, trapping, etc. in the Big Lost River Valley and surrounding areas.
  • Extensive knowledge of operating area. Experienced Hound Hunter having helped harvest numerous black bears and mountain lions for clients, family, and friends.
  • Has harvested or helped others harvested several hundred big game animals - 5 different species.
  • Has hiked and backpacked extensively throughout the outfitting and guide operating area.
